I think it is the big eye that makes us think it's cute, some primeval pre-conditioning or something that makes us respond to big eyes.

Thanks to this forum, I've really gotten into macro photography ($ on new lenses). But, I find most macro photos make my skin itch. this spider photo doesn't, makes me think of a teddy bear - so that's why I think it's an immature.
But, I want to know the real reason you know it's an immature spider?
