A little more info on this shot-

I took this with a Canon 1V-hs and 17-40L on aperture priority. This is a film print that I scanned. The "noise" that you see is actually film grain. It was a dark and cloudy day that day until the sun decided to show itself right before this shot. I think that I was probably shooting with iso 400 that day because of the clouds. So its a little less crisp than I would have wanted. I thought about cropping the upper rocky portion but found that when I did, my eyes just wandered around the picture. As it is, my eye seems to start at the top and follow the direction of the water flowing down the seaweed.

Incidentally, this coastal part of New Brunswick has the highest tides in the world. At some places on the coast you can be standing on the beach and a couple of hours later, there's 46 feet of water where you were standing. It was a remarkable place.
