I seems that there is a lot of confusion for some people thinking there will be no 60D and the 7D is the upgrade from the 50D.

This is going to be a new line, so there will be a 60D I assume.

So I guess the next camera in this line coming after the 7D will be (8D or 7DmkII)

Just if you didn't know already

Well, I'm still confused as heck. I assume the 7D is the beginning of a new trend, digital SLR's that emcompass video. Well, technically the 5DMkII is, but you know what I mean. ;)

Thanks for sharing the video. It should be shown to all who are crying that the 7D is replacing the xxD line, making the price jump from entry-level higher. Not to be concerned, there will be a 60D!

I like it - and I like Canon's strategy, as well.

They're saying it's not a replacement for the XXD line but we've seen Canon say one thing and do another in the past...

well it's clear with Nikon's lineup and how Nikon has etched out new lines like the 7D, the 1000D, I think this one's obvious

Canon 7D & Rebel T1i: Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8, Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 IS, Canon 55-250mm IS, Canon 28 f/1.8, Speedlite 580EX II, Speedlite 430EX II

I don't see what the point of a 60d would be now. Looking at the Nikon lineup which Canon was adjusting to with the 7d, what's the point of replacing the d90? Is it worth another model between the d5000 and and d300s? Same thing with Canon - either the T1i does it for you or you need pro AF & high FPS and you're going to buy the 7d anyway.

I still think that there will be people who prefer the bigger better made body of the 50D or the 60D when it comes out.The T1i just does not have that rugged feel of the xxD series. They may not need all of the features of the 7D but just prefer the feel of the xxD series bodys.
