Sorry if this has been covered, I looked and could not find anything. If I shoot a dress rehearsal for a ballet company what is typical as far as who makes what when prints are sold? Does the photographer get the whole take? Or, since some of the artistic look/feel is created/owned by the dance company do they get a cut? What is the typical contract between photographer and dance company. Most my sales go to parents/dancers, but what if a third party wants to buy? All dancers already sing a photo release when the sign on in the company so that is covered, but by the company itself.
Sorry, totally new to this end of the business. Any help will be much appreciated.
