its going on the 1ds mark 3 i toyed around for a little bit this evening, and decided i'm just to beat up from the trip to give it the attentino it deserves tonight, however nnot having it befoore hand wasnt ever the issue i could have bought one i just didnt think i was ready for such a lens ( even though i always thought they were sexy) i just didnt ever purchase one because as a photographer i didnt feel i was ready for it....
however when one stumbles upon a deal like this, then it cannot be passed up....
.
.
Now that i own it, its my new baby, and i'lll learn everything i can about it, and will shoot it alot, probably more than i need to, im sure alot of pics will be awful, but ill get it eventually....
.
.
NEVER did I ever have any intention of selling it, or not having it in my arsenal.........

Simply astonishing. Best. Find. Ever. The few 200mm f1.8 lenses you find on Ebay start at $4000...

If its the EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro (non-USM) model... its not THAT awesome.

what's wrong with the non usm version?...the optics are just as good...and macro doesn't really require the USM focusing

they still sell for more than the $200 spent...

either way i definitely need to start checking out garage sales...:)

she said it was her brothers stuff before he passed away. i tried to give her $600 more for it and she wouldnt take it.....soo i think im going back in the morning with a thank you letter, and some more cash in it, cause i kinda feel like i ripped her off ......

She might not need or want the money but maybe the offer of donating a few $'s to a charity supported by her brother would make all concerned feel a little better..:)

Nice find though, I always look in the local hospice charity shop that sells camera gear to see if there are any bargain.
