So I just sold a bunch of camera gear and have $1400 to spend on new stuff. :) My dilemma is what should I get.

I shoot everything, but focus on glamour (outdoors and in studio), landscapes/wildlife, night shots, and studio still lifes. I just upgraded to a 5DmkII and am still getting use to my lens on a FF camera and haven't quite decided the direction I should go.

Here's my current lineup
Canon 50mm f/1.8
Canon 24-105mm f/4L
Canon 70-200mm f/4L non-IS

So I have a couple of directions I could go, I could sell my 70-200mm and upgrade to a f/2.8 IS, I could go with a longer telephoto for the wildlife, primes for the studio, or wide of landscapes. I'm just not sure which way to go (realistically I need to buy 2 lenses but the budget only allows for 1 at the instant)

Here's what I'm considering
Wides
16-35mm f/2.8L
17-40mm f/4L

Primes
85mm f/1.2L II
100mm f/2.8L IS Macro (available Oct?)
134mm f/2L

Telephoto
70-200mm f/2.8L IS (upgrade from my non-IS f/4)
100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS

Any opinions? Any other lenses I should consider?

I plan to narrow down the list and then rent the remaining choices to figure out if they are what I need but need help with the whittling down of the list.

Canon 5DmkII | 24-105mm f/4.0L IS | 24-70mm f/2.8L | 17-40mm f/4L | 70-200mm f/2.8L IS | 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS | 50mm f/1.8

there will be no 100mm f2 L IS. You might be thinking of the 100mm 2.8 L IS macro.

Yep, you are correct. (edited original post to fix the error)

Since you're on a relatively tight budget have you considered the 85 1.8? You could pick up that and the 17-40 for a grand or that and the 100-400 for around $1500.

my vote is for going for the 85 1.8 and the 17-40. The 85 is a great portrait lens and the 17-40 will cover the wide end for landscapes. You will even have some money left over, which you could use to pick another prime, say the canon 28 1.8. I use the 28, 50, and 85 for portraits and they make for a very nice set

NADA...sold off my gear and bought a motorcycle. I might be back shooting someday...

Since you mention wildlife, I'd go for the 100-400. It takes a little getting used to the push/pull zoom but it's a very nice lens and would double your current reach.

Thanks for the input. I hadn't considered the 85 f/1.8 because I've been looking at only L lenses. I will consider it, but I'm really trying to stick with only L glass.

Are there any in the list you would not consider?
