wow Chief...I should have known you'd have a wild pet story. Glad he ended up okay. Holy cow.

Obviously we all felt awful. Lois and her Mom both felt guilty, and I did too. If there is one bright side to this story, it's this: If his leash had been maybe a foot longer, he would have gone under the wheel for sure.

He forgave us immediately, but even so, got pretty special treatment for the rest of his life.

Chief.. what a story! ... and with a thankfully happy ending.

I am always amazed at what some pets go through and survive, but that is one story in a million.

I didn't mean to hijack this thread. It just seemed to logically follow Maureen's story

Thanks for the override. Hale is really a sweet dog. The main reason I posted my story was because I know how bad Permie felt when it happened. I wanted her to know that very often the pets survive as if nothing has happened, and we humans probably remain more traumatized than the pet.

:lol: you guys are so funny. I didn't think it was hijacked. I just posted this because I've had so many questions about how she was doing.

Well, whether you like it or not, your dogs are our dogs, at least vicariously. I still have my Ashley calendar on the wall even though it's a bit out of date.

Well, it's been 6 weeks since the surgery. Today was Hale's first walk outside the house. For the last week she's had several 15min. time periods outside the cage, during the day but today was her first allowed walk. Very short but still good. I took some snaps with the G9

You can kind of see her front elbow here. It's still a bit lumpy from the bolt but it should eventually go down.

It's always important to stop and smell the flowers

Taking a break halfway through the walk and watching dad & brother in the distance.

Pause and reflect

BROTHER! Welcome back!

Home at last.
