Taken of my girlfriend, the lighting was coming in through the window and giving her a "mysterious" look imo, so I took a couple shots. Any comments? I personally like them but I've never taken portraits before.

These were unedited.

1-2: too underexposed (better use a flash to compensate).

1: for me the part of her hand haven't significance on the shoot.
2: better eyes more open and including all her left hand

In general, for portraits, the focus go on the eyes of the subject.

I don't think you would rightly call these portraits. They are potentially interesting shots, the lighting is interesting but i'm not sure about the expression in the first, and the second she is too far into the shadow. The second might be improved with some PP.

The light is interesting.
It looks like you used a wide angle lens for these. Because of that and underexposure, they are not as flattering as they could be to your girl friend. The previous comment, about the hand, was valid.

I agree, and interest shots is what we shall call them.

They weren't meant to be flattering (no offense to her ;)), nor well lit, I just felt like the setting was interesting to me. She also was unaware that these were being taken.
