A friend of mine asked me to take some photos of his 50's Chevy rat rod. It was a nice change from what I normally shoot. I plan to build my own rat in the future. Hopefully make it happen next summer. Looking at putting a 50's Chevy truck on an S10 chassis. I found a the truck I want last winter (link (external link)). Just need to get a hold of the owner and find out it he will sell it. If it happens I plan to chop the roof and leave the body as is. I would like to do up the interior though as I plan to make it pretty much a daily driver and my business vehicle. :D

A little info about this car. It has been chopped both in the body and the roof for a total of 7". The rivets are air brushed and the interior is really rough but that is part of the look. It was a lot fun getting out with this car. Expect for the billion or so mosquitoes hassling us.

#2 we took the license plate off and so I didn't have to clone it out. That is why the bottom lip is different then the rest of the photos. #5 I was trying some new processing ideas and pushed it further then I normally do but really like the results. Fits well with the subject.

These are VERY nice work, & of course #2 is my favorite for the light, composition, & background!
I think that it's interesting that you put a Rat in those elements & made it look great where half these guys would shoot a Lexus in a junkyard & think it's a cool shot? :D

I plan to chop the roof ... to make it pretty much a daily driver and my business vehicle.

It's a great body style that you've found. I hope you have a young back to go with the chopped top?

Thank you all very much! The owner is very happy. This was a freebie as I will be getting him to help with the chop....way down the road.

Thank you. If this comes to reality I would definitely lower the seat and make it as comfortable as possible.:D
