They look good Matt. How did you like the Quantum? Also how high above the camera is your flash?

The Quantum worked perfect... had at least 75% battery left at the end of the game. Allowed for at least a two shot burst if needed. Maybe more but I didnt push it and wont unless its a big time play.

The flash is only about 6in above the camera right now, the guys at Custom Bracket are making me an extension to use that will get it 12-18 above. Also going to try with the flash under mounted on Monopod. That seems to be the easiest way to mount and if the images are the same I might go that route to reduce weight and equip. Switching to my second camera was not easy with the bracket.

I thought it was kind of low. When you raise it up it will help with the shadows. Mine is about 18" tall.

Nice ones.

My first try last night was total fiasco. The 540ex quit as something came loose. I was using cybsersync triggers. And the shooting positions weren't helping much with action on the wrong side. Oh well, maybe next week.

Are we ever really happy with our own shots?

I like how the last one has more ambient background.

Is that because you used 1/200" SS (the others were 1/250"-1/300")... drag the shutter a little longer to let more background light in, while letting the strobe freeze the action in the foreground?

Or were you just trying a lot of different settings? (I notice ISO and aperture are also varied).

You missed a red-eye in #4.

I'm currently using a superclamp below, but I just ordered the Manfrotto 233B, so I'll give raised flash a try next.
