Just started getting into this night time motion trail genre and really want to expand on it. Comments, critiques, and help greatly appreciated!
This is on Geary St. in San Francisco.
Couple crops and sharpening in post production for all.

#1. The street lights are in the way
#s 1, 2 & 3. The headlights need to be stronger. I would suggest shooting at a wider aperture and for a shorter exposure. There's lots of cool light lines but most of them are too weak to have any real impact. I would try somewhere in the vicinity of f11 and see how that works out. Remember to try out different settings and find out what difference it makes in the picture.

A wider aperture will also help to remove the star effect you are getting from the street lights (unless of course you want to keep them. I am partial either way but they can become distracting).

I like #3 but I also agree the headlights are not strong enough. Shorter exposure next time.

Ya know I see long exposure traffic shots all the time. But something about having them done in San Fran makes them so much better. I'm sure it's because of the hills.

Captured some neat shots there.

Keep it up.
