A very interesting spider

I've never seen a spider quite like this one, especially the colouring.

I live down the 401 in London, and see these a fair bit.

I believe they are call Orb Weavers

That is a good ole Garden Spider and they are a great friend and make the most beautiful webs in the world. Very common this time of year in our area.

Try and catch him at daylight with the moisture in the web. He will be there if you did not tear his web down.

Some people call it a Zig Zag spider because they make a Z pattern in the center of their web. Do a wiki search on zig zag spider.

They are venomous, of course, as are all spiders. However, their venom isn't very potent. So you won't be hitting the hospital if it gets its teeth into you.
