This is my first post. I went to Island Park in my home state of Idaho for the weekend. I got some photos of these birds in the water fishing. First of all, I would like to know what kind of bird this is if anyone could help. Then, I would appreciate any help with this photo as far as post processing. I didn't shoot this in RAW, which I usually do.

You've got a shot of a Grebe. I am unfamiliar with the western species, but I'll venture a guess that it is a Western grebe.

It is either a Clarks or a Western grebe. Both closely related.

Looks like white goes around eye which is hard to tell in photo but if that is the case it would be a Clarks, but that is the most uncommon of the two, and they are often found togather.
