Boy o boy o boy - you are so fortunate to live in Jackson Hole! Do you live in the town of Jackson, or elsewhere in the greater J Hole area?

You are blessed with not only a great abundance of excellent wildlife photo opportunities, but also with an excellent local economy and a great market for wildlife images.

Only downside - it's so dang expensive! Do you live there on a permanent, year-round basis, or just on a temporary/seasonal basis?

I strongly recommend checking out the Thomas Mangelsen Gallery, if you haven't already done so.

Tom,

I do live in Jackson on a year round basis. I have been here now for over 3 and a half years and I could not agree with you more about the abundant wildlife opportunities here. I also would have to agree with the really expensive cost of living. I am fortunate enough to actually work for the local newspaper here in Jackson, the Jackson Hole News and Guide as a prepress supervisor and as the staff advertising photographer. I actually have shot along side Tom Mengelsen on a few occasions in the field and would agree that he is one of the top in the field. Thanks for the comments

Welcome to POTN! I think we're all jealous given the availability of subject matter that you have there.

I am sure we'll see many more of your shots here! again, welcome.

Brent - sounds like you have a job that could be rather demanding. Hopefully you still get to get out for wildlife shoots often. Do you get the opportunity to head up to Yellowstone on a frequent basis?

Welcome to POTN. Great shots -- and what a great place to live to get them!

WahooWolfe- Thanks for the welcome and I will be putting up many more of my images as soon as I get the chance.

Tom- It is a demanding job but the great thing about it is that I have every weekend off so I do get a chance to go to Yellowstone quite often but I prefer Grand Teton for wildlife shooting.

Cool. I would put Grand Teton as #2 for scenery in the lower 48, right behind Glacier. Also, Grand Teton has amazing wildlife opportunities. Hopefully I will be there in late September.

Jackson Hole is part of the richest county in the U.S.:

Aspen and Manhattan(NYC) are next in line.
