big (smokey) atmosphere in the field , although very heavy thundery downpours at times
the wheels looked massive and crushing
lol

It's nice to see those. What on earth did you do to the sky in #2?

I gotta ask, why the canopies? I've been around tractors most of my life but have never seen anything like this. And thanks for sharing!

Yes it rains and snow. The farmers back then must have been a little hardier though because they just sat in the rain or were smart enough to get out of it.

not sure
most of them are over a hundred years old.
probably the designers were thrilled at their performance and went the whole hog in designer gear (< pun... makes one wonder about old 'gears')
lol
love tractors, especially the small old ones, to see them rattling along the country roads is bliss

lol

: )

thanks Bill

years ago they used buckets for the water, as can be seen in # 1 picture

Love these photos, We've got a show coming up the end of this month with antique machinery and lots of old steam tractors and such, hope I can make it. Love the effect on photo #4, looks like one of those old hand painted post cards
