Here's a shot I did late yesterday at a place called Wybung Head, between the central coast and Newcastle, looking North.

Once again, I'm never really happy with the final finish of the few HDR I have attempted, but I thought I'd throw this up for some feedback. I think the headland in the center is a little too yellow? I would have liked to get more out of the sky too, as those clouds were a bit more dramatic than they show here

It was handheld too which prob isn't the best.

I figured HDR was the best way to capture this as the sun was very low, and there was a lot of contrast. I used a polariser, and 3 shots at 2 stops apart.

I agree, it's at the top of my list of countries to visit if I ever get the chance

Burnaz, that's only half of them! They go further south too. Driving home at night and looking east, you wouldn't know there was an ocean, there is that many lights coming from them, it looks like more land.

Newcastle exports some of the worlds best (black?) coal, and they just all want some of it. We can't get it out of the ground fast enough. We had one of those blundering things ( called the "pasher bulker") wash up on a beach in 07 after a massive storm in the area. Luckily they got it off without too much damage or leakage.

One time I counted over 70 ships offshore before I gave up.
