i have a ton of raw images i need to sort through. over the years many a laptop and many a camera i have managed to save doubles and triples in paranoia of losing them. now id like to save them on two externals but in order to save some space id like to remove the doubles and triples. can anyone recomend a good software to sort, manage and move them all?

I find iMatch to be an excellent program. It really helped me find duplicates, archive and batch smart rename my hordes of raw images.

What's wrong with using the Search function in your OS to find, move and consolidate all your RAW file? Either Windows Explorer (PC) or Finder (Mac) will do that job.

To weed out duplicates you'll need a separate utility. The best ones are based on generating hash calculations for each file and based on the hash comparison it will identify duplicates even if the files don't have the same names.

lightroom does that very efficiently with a keyword dictionary and keeping track of where the physical file is if you have multiple removable hard drives. It also supports multiple raw formats(canon and sony for sure).
