We found this beautiful spider underneath the edge of our deck. We coaxed her onto a stick, laid the stick on a mirror and the rest, as they say, is history. Kind of reminds me of the words from a poem by Wallace Stevens.

"Death is the mother of beauty. Only the perishable can be beautiful, which is why we are unmoved by artificial flowers."

Awesome shot. Love the background color. Really makes her pop right out. Great shot.

Welcome to POTN! Very nice shot. I'm glad you took the time to image her instead of squish her. There was a couple of females that had built around our house. One had even produced an egg sac. It was very rewarding to see the little spiderlings emerge. I even had one come in on a plant this winter, and I would find little insects and throw them in her web. She never left the plant, and was still on it when I took the plant out this spring.

Well done, great idea. Did you get a shot with just the spider and no stick.
