Lots of talk around this camera, more than any other body I can remember except maybe the first digital Rebel. As more and more first impressions gets released and sample photos come out, more people seem to feel cheated by their existing camera. I've read of 1D owners upset over the 7D's auto focus, 50D owners upset over the new sensor improvements. I even saw 5Dmk2 owners sigining a petittion to Canon complaining about the video capabilities of the 7D. That's crazy.

So what is it? The features?, the price?, the single digit name? Or the fact that Canon has released a cropped pro-spec camera, and for only $1699?
I would think all these things are good news for the entire Canon DSLR line. Just think about the next 5D and what it could offer. Pretty amazing stuff coming our way I would think.

Because people are cry babies.. I recently purchased a 50D and I'm not the least bit upset by the 7D.. In fact I'm waiting for B&H to let me know when I can order one. :)

Complaining that something newer is better than the old stuff is a joke. Imagine complaining that a new car has more features than your old one.. Absurd!

you mean maybe the next 5d will have a 1.6 crop sensor :D?

the 5d and 7d sure get mentioned in the same breath alot, which probably explains why so many are "upset".

the 7d has features that many thought the 5d II should have had and now we are building cause for future disappointment.

why ask why. it's the silly season when some are saying the 1d has become obsolete because of this new18mp 1.6 crop camera and others say the 7d will match the 5d II in ISO noise.

give it a few months and we'll know the truth and the one thing i can assure you the fellas will continue to be "upset" no matter what canon does in the future :D.

I have not read many "upset" threads. Just threads discussing the features and what could have been done isntead. I started a rather lengthy one on the 18MP spec. Was I whining about the 18MP? Maybe a little. Am I angry? No. I just firmly felt that they could have made an overall better camera if they had not forced themselves into 18MP. Is that not worth discussing? If not, is any of the stuff we talk about worth discussing? Shouldn't we all just go take pictures?

Also, if you thinjk this is bad, wait until all the 40D/50D/5D/5dmk2/1dmk2/1dmk3 vs 7D threads start popping up when the camera is actually available. And we are STILL having threads about which has better noise, 40 or 50D. It just goes on and on. But this is a gearhead forum. Also, there never has been and never will be a perfect camera. So any new camera will suck for some reason and have cause for complaint.

Because they can't afford it.

Because people are plunking on their keyboards when they should be out shooting, and for most of them, learning.
