MIGHT be a Banana spider but don't take my word for it.

I don't think its a Banana Spider. They are more Black & Yellow. Never seen one with red/orange in it. Could be wrong though.

edit : Great shot btw!

Thanks a lot everybody for replies! Good it wasn't a Banana Spider. Those are huge and venomous. ( I googled it) :0)

I wish I had by boys memory! Both my boys are on the autism spectrum and the stuff they retain after just reading it once scares me at times. I hate saying they are autistic because that is not what or who they are. Autism is the gift they have and yes it can be a gift and a curse (at times). If it was not for them seeing their world in detail I would have never gotten into macro photography.

I home school and we do a lot of nature walks taking pictures of local wildlife then come home id the creature and learn all about it. Yesterdays lesson was about spiders not being insects and what other creatures are in the class Arachnida. I had no idea ticks and mites were in this same class. I knew scorpions were but was shocked by the others.

Well sorry for the long ramble. I was shocked Caleb came up with the id and did so immediately. I guess my lessons are paying off. Now if I could only remember my lessons!
