Hopefully everyone enjoyed our gorgeous St. Louis weather last weekend! I just wanted to share a compilation of a few photos I took at a wedding at the Carondelet Boathouse on Saturday. It was so nice out.

HELP!

I'm shooting a wedding at Windows on Washington this Friday, and we're doing pre/post ceremony photos outdoors. A little worried about the possible rain, so I've been searching for locations near the ceremony site downtown that has a covered area.

Does anyone know of any locations like that? I had suggested we just shoot at the Muny, but the bride is wanting to stay closer to the ceremony site...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Old St. Ferdinand Shrine -- while attending the Fall Festival in Florissant this weekend I almost got caught in the rain but lucky to be outside the front door of this early 1800s church at the time. As I was waiting inside for the rain to pass and not having a lot of people traffic in the pic (it was rather busy since others were also seeking shelter) I fired off three quick shots, handheld. It was very dimly lite inside, plus the heavy cloud cover didn't help with the lighting. 5D2, 24-70 Mk 1, 3200 ISO, HDR processed. 24mm wasn't wide enough to also capture the beautiful stained class windows along the side walls, and I was also seated about six pews forward since those rear pews were occupied.

I spoke with one of the women volunteers who works at the church about its history. She told me that many years ago if they didn't turn the church into a shrine then "it would have been ordered to be demolished". The shrine's website says it's the oldest Catholic church west of Mississippi, and those are the original 1819 pews. Glad to see this historic St Louis area church preserved!

It kind of dies off during the winter months...I'm sure things will pick up once everyone gets back outdoors.
