hey tatortech, thanks for joining in.

pretty good shots here, imo. the only things i would add..
1..looks fine, but someone may be able to help with the lighting at the water's edge being hot. i dont know how to tone that down and properly expose the skyline.
2.. i like it. looks like the same angle from which i put in the first shot of the thread...i guess great minds think alike...lol.
3.. i would center the building since it dominates the frame.
4.. neat idea, but too busy for my taste.
5.. decent shot, but it looks like the tripod wasnt level. the sculpture looks to be leaning right.

keep showing us what you get. this certainly isnt a "bash my photo" thread. there are plenty of places on potn for that...lol.

Straightening...lol. Every time I straighten the horizon, I hang the picture crooked.

Ran out to Rombach's Farm in the Chesterfield Valley last weekend. For those no longer living here, we have had a really, really wet October (in fact, it's raining again today, which actually gives me the time to pp and post these...lol). Near record wet for the month has the local pumpkin patches struggling to keep their pumpkins from rotting. Workers told me they have been assigned to "punkin' kickin'" duty, where they head out every day to roll the pumkins around to allow the undersides to dry out a little. Some of the kickin' has resulted in damaged pumpkins, too.

I'm not sure about indoor activities, but Taste of Saint Charles is coming up...I may go to that. It's on November the 19th.

love the sunset shots. you had a nice view. and, i like the GND, too. personally, i need some clouds for the sun to set underneath since i dont have a clear view of the horizon from my house, and i dont get to plan ahead enough to go somewhere for sunset shots often at all. however, i will file this place a away as one to think about when that opportunity does arise. and, that is the point of this thread, obviously.

thanks, lindsay.

if anyone else has some favorite spots to shoot skylines, sunsets, etc, in the STL area....please share.
