Anyone want to venture a guess on the % of copies out there (24-105L) with Lens Creep issues? I know on forums once can always find a thread on this from a user that's having issues. That said, I gotta believe a lens cosing over $1k will not have this issue, new or used. Am I wrong in my assumption? Interested in getting your feedback. Thx.

When walking with the lens faced towards the ground, mine will eventually creep.

I've had mine for almost 3 years and have not had any creep problems. But the 70-300/4.5-5.6 DO :mad::mad:

Too much stuff, not enough shooting time.

Canon T4i (2 lenses), Fuji X100s, Olympus OM-D EM-1 (3 lenses)

Mine creeps if I'm walking, but I don't see what the big deal is.

How old/much used is it?

Creep problems tends to be worse with time. My 28-135 and Sigma 18-200 can't be held downwards without creeping. Quite bothersome to try to photograph from a bridge and whenever you let go with the left hand to do something, the lens expands to full zoom. Or trying to get some pictures of something on the ground.

I'm sure I've read a thread somewhere were the OP slid a suitable rubber band under the ring so it was just hidden from view. I believe it stopped it creeping.

I imagine that any camera repair business could adjust the lens to stop it happening. I know I had an aging manual focus Nikkor zoom many years ago that I had to get seen to for that reason.

I think it's a UT date code, so 2005. It's my most frequently used lens. It's loose but not exceedingly so. If it bounces around it will creep.

No creep here - silky smooth with just enough 'stiction' to give feel.
