Anyone here willing to let me ship my a630 to them to do this for a fee? I could probably do it myself but I'd rather not screw it up and end up with a paperweight. I would pay shipping both ways and include a little cash for your troubles.

Even if you did screw up, you would only have to delete the files from the memory card and you are back to scratch. Canon Powershot SX10 IS

Sep 11, 2009 23:38 | #6 OK, I'll do it. First question, does it HAVE to be a 4gb or smaller card? If so I'll have to get another card. Mine is an 8gb. Canon SX40 HS

hnikesch Goldmember More info | Sep 12, 2009 09:02 | #7 If you want to have CHDK auto load on camera power up yes you will need a 4gb card or smaller. but you can manually start CHDK on a 8gb card and only start it when you want it. I auto load using a 4gb card. manual start is not that bad, you just go to the canon menu in play back mode and select firmware update, then it runs until you power down, you know after writing this it is a pain to manually start Hans

I tried to do it with an 8gb SD card but it didn't work. However, when I tried it with a 2gb card, it worked. It only took me 30 minutes from start to finish. If u know what ur doing, I'm sure it could take less time. Good luck! -FF and crop bodies w/ some lenses and S90-

A small one (32mb) that's FAT16 and the rest going to a large FAT32 partition. Problem with this method is that you always have to boot with CHDK on, otherwise the camera ends up using the small partition. www.eloquentpixels.com
