true on the ball comments however... if i would have cropped for the ball they would be just a tad too big... not cropped close.. so i went with this...

Dave, its number 3 for me. Seems that parents are more concerned with nice tight, clean crops of their kid over the greatest action and this one is exactly what they look for. I also like that it includes an opposing player so that you know its not a staged shot or practice, etc. Well done on that one.

Maybe take that extra foot from the first and attach it to the second. I would definitely crop out that lone foot in the first. I like 3 and 6 but would toss the ones without ball.

I live in the Kansas City (Blue Springs) area and happen to know #22 in picture 2. Just sent his mom your link. She is going to be thrilled. You got some good shots of him.

Awesome shots!
I assume you shot with the 300 for this game? Did you shoot all wide open? I have a game coming up and I have only shot one soccer game before, so just curious.

yup... I rarely use the 300 at anything less than wide open... because it is really really sharp.. the only time i will really do it is if i have enough light for ISO 100 and at least 1/1600th, which then i stop down to f4 but only if I can get f4 with those settings.

Dave, when you do square aspect ratio crops in your zenfolio, do your customers decide on how to recrop, do you, or does zenfolio? Or do your customers just get what shows up?

in #1, I'd crop the shoe on the right

#3, great shot

in #7, I'd crop out the 2nd ball on the ground

I chose the crops but then upload to Zen. Then post here.. what will happen the majority of the time is that if i cant avoid it then i have to leave it in there.

The customer can choose the crop if they would like but most of my crops arent made for say... 8x10's so if someone orders one I will re upload their print and change their order for the 8x10 crop.

So in other wording... I edit/crop, upload to zen, person orders, if anything needs to be cleaned up or changed, I repost the image and take care of it.
