I recently bought a Manfrotto 393 gimbal head, which at under £110 is often regarded as the poor man's Wimberely, for less than 1/4 the price. I took it out for it's first use in the field today and it worked well. Here is a short video review/demo of the product....

I bought mine from Warehouse Express in the UK - http://www.warehouseexpress.com …ns-monopod-bracket/p11050 (external link)

Please feel free to ask questions. :)

The 393 is the bomb. Cheap, rock-solid, and stable, due to the U-shape design with the two points of contact, which reduce bending and keep everything balanced over the center of the head.

I use it and love it!
