I'm going to have a few late-afternoon hours in Omaha near Qwest center, and thought I'd take the camera along for a stroll. I prefer shooting old structures and landscapes, and wondered if anyone had suggestions for a wander through that part of the city? I won't have a car, but I will have a seven-hour plane ride to recover from.

Thanks in advance. I've never been to this part of Nebraska and am looking forward to seeing something other than the sandhills (where I've been before)...

If you are near the Qwest center you are very close to the Old Maket (historic district). Basically if you are right in front where they have the sculptures etc... head south a few blocks and you will be right in the middle of it.

There is also Heartland of America Park and Gene Leahy Mall both of which are nice parks for photo opportunites and are in the old Market.

Thanks again for the suggestions. Had a nice stroll through Leahy Mall and the Old Market - don't know if I really got any keepers, but there were some interesting opportunities.

Nice city (at least the parts I saw).

Glad to hear it, if your ever back in town you should check out the Zoo. Omaha has one of the best Zoo's in the nation.
