EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III
I went back 22 pages and nothing was said about this lens??? If I am not in the right form please forgive Me! I just ordered this lens B/C I can not spend too much $$ But want to take Pic's of My son on the Soccer Field. I also just got the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi 12.2MP with 18-55mm. This is a MUCH BIGGER STEP than my G9.....
But I will be fine with this EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Lens RIGHT?????

Sure. I spent the first few years shooting sports with a Sigma 70-300 lens. It gave pleasing results for the price of the lens.

If you want to get an idea of how the Canon 75-300mm lens will work: pretty well, from experience.

As with most camera and lens combinations, the more experience you have, the better results you'll get. The only way to get experience is to go to the event and take pictures.

its a Micro USM so it's not the good Ring USM you hear about. Isn't this one of Canon's first IS lenses? I heard it's a piece of crap that I often forget about it and I wonder if people mean the 70-300 f/4-5.6 which is QUITE good actually.... but alas the 75 spells blah... what do you guys think?

Honestly, if you want a cheap zoom, I really urge you to look at the 55-250 if you can't afford an expensive lens...
