Quite surprised how steep the stairs are - some of them can be as high as 4-5 traditional bricks. Climbing up & down is really an experience but requires some foot muscles.
It's only a 2-hour flight from Hong Kong, though it takes more than 2 hours drive from Beijing to the Walls, depending on which sections. But it's worth the time and beautiful sceneries can be seen along the journey.
Here's Badaling and surroundings, northwest of urban Beijing:

Straightening...lol. Every time I straighten the horizon, I hang the picture crooked.

Thanks. Come to think of it, it was actually raining in the morning when we were leaving from Beijing. Perhaps I should consider myself pretty lucky for seeing only the fog/smog.

Oh my...these shots are spectacular! It's hard to pick my fave...but I guess it would be between #3 and #4.

Fantastic shots!

I think the fog/smog really made the photographs better than the usual standard sunny day photographs...
