Was checking the exif on my photos on flickr and its saying the camera temperature on my 450D is -128c tried to have a look at other 450D photos and at the exif files for them and they don't seem to list camera temperatures to see if it is the same.

the camera definite doesn't feel hot,any ideas why it would say it or am i just wondering over nothing?

-128C = -198F

I don't think I'd be worried about a "Hot" camera at these temps! ;)

-128C should REALLY help with sensor noise... try pushing the ISO ;)

Canon list's the 450D to have Working Temperature Range from 32-104°F/0-40°C. The temperature listed in the exif data must be a glitch. -128°C is extremely cold and the camera would not function at all.

Also - if you can find the temperature sensor in the 450, let us all know.

It's definitely a glitch. I noticed by browsing around your stream that images touched by Picasa appear to have this field. Picasa is most likely intending the field to mean something else, and Flickr is interpreting it as "Camera Temperature"...

I'm not sure if it is that.

Looking at this other picture on my flickr
http://www.flickr.com …7406@N05/3914520653/meta/ (external link)
it shows the temperature being 42c another thing it also says is that the canon firmware on the above picture is S 450D where as on the picture in the first post it says .4 and both showing Picasa 3.0 on them.

Perhaps it has just got screwed up, I occasionally get acr/photoshop mangling the focal length to read 0mm.

Definitely a glitch, no way you or the camera can operate normally at that temp!

I stuck one in the oven with a Turkey last Thanksgiving. When the shutter button popped out, I knew the bird was done.

Damn but that was some tasty turkey!! ;)

There is definitely a temperature sensor in the camera. The manual says that liveviewm, or movie (T1i), will shut off if temperatures inside the camera exceed certain values.
