I've never been to Boston and am going in one month. I have a few days while visiting a friend to take in the air and get some shots. I'll be going to "Quincy" if that means anything to anyone. Would love some suggestions on what to photograph.

thanks, D:rolleyes:

There are lots of random things to shoot if you walk the freedom trail. It terminates at north end. I love to do that walk.

Quincy marketplace is fun for peoplewatching.. get there early grab a pastry and a good seat to enjoy the people..

Quincy Market in the city, but Quincy is actually south of Boston. Good news is that its a short (30 min maybe) subway ride from Quincy into the city, or even less time by cab or car ride.

As far as places to shoot...
The Freedom Trail, like Tdragon said, is nice and will take you to many historical points of Boston.
Faneuil Hall is great if you're there on the weekend and want to shoot some street performers.
Boston Public Gardens is good if you like nature, which is also where the pond with the "Swan Boats" are.
Copley Square is great if you want some dramatic wide-angle shots of the John Hancock building.
If you want skyline shots, the best place I'd recommend is anywhere along Memorial Drive, which is a road that borders the north side of the Charles River.

Hope this helps, and enjoy the trip!

If you are taking the train, (which i suggest you do for Boston shots), take the RedLine from Quincy and get off at Park Street Station. This is a pretty central location.

1. Public Gardens, plenty to shoot in here.
2. From there take a Taxi to 'Hanover Street' in the North End. Just tell the taxi driver anywhere on that street. Make your way around there a bit, once you've seen enough, make your way northward on foot to the ...
3. Zakim Bridge. It's a nice bridge and has defined part of the Boston Skyline.
4. If you still have time, i'd say take the Orange or Green lines both of which are nearby to BackBay(Orange Line) or Copley(Green line stations) they are right near each other, and make your way around the Prudential/Hancock buildings (You can to go the top of the prudential for photos) and lastly get back on the green line and head to the redline home.
