I took this a couple of years ago of a Ram while he was chasing a female all over the canyon rocks. I watched them for about an hour, and he never caught her. He had to stop and rest every few minutes, as he was running all out, up and down the rocks and sides of the canyon. You can see his tongue hanging out....:D

Nice catch Steve.

I've seen similar antics with our red stags here in N.Z. during the 'roar' (rut). The master stag has a never-ending job day after day keeping his hinds together and if in an area with good numbers, also having to run off lesser, satellite stags. They absolutely knackered and often see them with tongue hanging out.

Matt.

Thanks Matt, This poor guy was just chasing one female around, no other's in sight. Amazing to watch them run on the cliffs and canyon walls.
