How do i install the Lens Hood of EF 24-105 in Reverse Mount for Storage

the manual says that the lens hood of the 24-105 can be mounted in reverse for storage. i am having a hard time putting the lens hood in reverse mount.

the manual have instructions in putting the lens hood in the normal orientation but not in the reverse orientation.

Just put it on and twist? No trick to it or anything.

how about the those red dot marking on the hood and on the side of the lens that needs to be aligned ?

When putting it on reversed, the dots don't line up.

yep, when i am installing the hood in reverse and when i twist it, the hood just snaps outwards :rolleyes: . perhaps i am doing it the wrong way

You're probably not seating it all the way before twisting it.

I never look at dots when putting the hoods on for storage. No real sense in it.

usually hoods have to be rotated by 90 degrees to seat correctly in reverse position...

Me too, I do have problems with installing lens hood of the RF 24-105 in reverse , and I have not found a (right ) answer for that yet.
