bannedPermanent ban

the orange pilons kill the shot, when shooting moto try to frame where the cones etc are not around... also looks like there is too much head room

Looks good but I'd try slower shutter speeds to get that BG blurred more.

Thanks. Will try slower next time I'm at the track.. What shutter speeds do you recommend?

If you're gonna be shooting at less than 200MM, I'd say start from about 1/80. It really depends on your shooting location and how fast the cars are moving in that section. But Ive found if your shutter times match the focal length (or thereabouts) you'll never achieve the desired effect.

Shot #2 is spot on, I'm not in agreement with a slow shutter speed otherwise you get to the point where the back ground starts to get so blured it has no information value in the shot what so ever, at present you can tell a little bit about the track/background but its not sharp enough to take your eye away from the subject and still gives the impression of speed.

#2 is perfect. I wouldn't shoot much slower or you'll certainly risk losing sharpness in the car.

I guess it's a matter of personal taste... I don't think you always need complete blur out of the background and tires to make the photo dynamic. Sometimes just a little bit of blur does the job.
