Took my girl to the river with her daddy. She really enjoyed herself. I'd appreciate any and all C&C. I'm trying to work on bring colors out more in photos. Any suggestions on how I can bring out the colors more would be great. Plays are welcome. Thank you for looking.

Thank you very much. You're right the water does seem off in color. Does this look a little better?

Cute pictures!

Since you asked, Here's a literally 30 second edit using a cool layers trick to pop the color.

In Photoshop (I used elements 6)

duplicate layer, change blending mode to 'overlay', adjust duplicate layer's opacity to change level of saturation and contrast - this was 75%

If you shoot RAW and use Lightroom it's very simple to make colors pop. There are also 100's of free presets to use in lightroom to do this as well.

I always shot RAW. I have LR but I am not very comfortable with it yet, maybe I should get more familiar with it. I do my RAW editing with DDP. Do you know of any sites that have good Tuts on how to use LR? Where do I find the free presets?

i would crop out the top in the one by the water....i just think all that water is really unnessesary, now as far as the colors, i follow the same routine with most of my shots....i start by adjusting the white balance....then i would add some contrast and maybe bring out some fill light to avoid losing detail.
