For those who have a Blackrapid RS-5 strap, would an iPhone or similar width cell phone be able to fit in the cell phone holder of the shoulder pad? I have not been able to find a clear answer as I am very interested in getting strap if it can hold this phone. Thanks very much!

Tried it with my wife's iPhone 3G and my RS-5 strap. The iPhone fits just right in the cell phone pocket.

My Blackberry 8830 did not fit, however. It is too wide.

I had not seen any photos of an iphone within the pocket. The only thing I had seen before was the mention that a cell phone could fit. I have Blackberry Bold which is 2.57 inches in width, while the iPhone is 2.4 inches. Tgara, do you think my BB Bold might be able to fit?

The phone pocket on the Black Rapid is billowed, so it will expand to fit most phones. When I fit the iPhone 3G in there, it filled the pocket completely and expanded the billow to the max. If your Bold fits in there at all, it will be very tight. I say that because in order to get the iPhone in the pocket easily, I had to remove the thin pink silicone skin my wife has on her unit. With the skin on, it fit, but it was extremely tight even discounting the drag forces between the silicone and the ripstop nylon of the pocket. The thickness of the skin is less than 0.1 inches on each side.

Seems like you will be right on the borderline, iAMB. Sorry I can't be more definitive.

I definitely appreciate all your help. I think I will go for the RS-5 and try it out. I think for the extra 10 bucks, the extra storage gained will be worth the cost. If not, I can always return it for the RS-4. Thanks for all your help.

Just ordered the RS-5. Pretty excited. I will also add some pictures on here for those you also might be wondering about the cell phone pockets.
