post is useless without pics :P J/k Dude.

In other news... really liking lightroom 3 beta... Vignette is better and the slideshow output is also great, can now output to video, and sync the length to a song.

Ive got permission to post them in nude section (Will post once I process them)

Cameron

I've already downloaded the beta but haven't tried it yet. The new features are just what I need though, can't wait to use it :) till after exams :(

Another 'what camera insurance should I get' question.
Renewal came to $800-odd through Aon insurance, includes accidental damage/theft/loss with a $100 excess. Doesn't include public liability.

What else is good?

I was with AON and shopped around earlier this year and went with WSC Insurance Brokers - they run the www.photoinsurance.com.au (external link) site that was mentioned earlier.

I haven't made a claim through them but they were a couple of hundred cheaper than AON. I made one claim with AON for a damaged lens - they took a while to pay but they eventually coughed up. They didn't dispute the claim it just seemed to take forever for Suncorp (who must under write the AON policy) to pay.

I'll probably do the same thing  My exams are all over on the 16th, although I have 11 days of nothing before that last one (apart from study).

I know some of you were running the Win7 beta - who got all geeky and rushed out and bought the release today?

I'm considering upgrading from XP. I'm hoping it will squeeze a bit more speed out of this machine (I'm hoping to give it a major transplant in the next few months (mobo, CPU and RAM).

Specs of this machine are:
AMD 4400+ CPU
3GB RAM
NVidia GeForce 7800GT gfx card

Am I likely to notice much of a performance boost, especially when running PS CS4 and Lightroom 2.5?

Also is there any advantage to going 64bit over 32bit?

Yep, you can access more than 3 gig at once... which for lightroom and photoshop is huge.

For sure upgrade... your machine should feel alot snappier under windows 7 than xp.

I don't think I'll actually buy 7 until I know what I'm going to end up with next year. I'll probably get a new laptop in February/March to start uni and it'll come with it you would hope. On my current, I'll just stick with the RC.

5D2 for sure?

Ugh, not sure. The ONLY reason I'd be going 5D II is make my 70-200 a hell of alot more useful and so my 85mm can also 'double as a 50mm', if that makes sense. With regards to high-ISO noise, the 7D is easily good enough for me. Decisions..
