Two that I can see:

1) You've got some redundancy having all the same devices, and

2) apparently the broadcast range or coverage or something is better than the mini.

Having said that, I'll probably get a mini when I get the ZoneController.

Right, so there's certainly no 'harm' in getting a TT5 for the camera. Having been observing the product pics, the TT5 seems to be considerably larger than the TT1. So I thought perhaps the TT1 would be more desirable due to its smaller size alone. I should be able to get some of these as soon as I sell off some other gear. Looking forward to the so-called "PW reliability"! :)

Yeah, it'a really just a size thing - the prices aren't much different.

As per Richard's write-up after our tests on Saturday, they're doing pretty well.

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

 I will when I get new batteries :p They're CR2 3V's, I just looked on the Dick Smith website and Duracell ones are $10 each there. Anyone know where to source a Duracell/Energizer cheaper than that?

I buy 'em off EBay.....

First batch (Panasonic IIRC) was INCLUDING POSTAGE, about $AU 1.00 each (I brought 20 at once...)

Second batch was a touch dearer, but not much, generic brand but seem OK.....

$12 - $16 ea in the shops here !!!

Yeah, for the cost you may as well go all out on a TT5

Wow, I haven't been in here for ages.

Does anyone happen to have any gear they'd like to sell? I'm sick of Nikon's sh*t and am jumping ship...

Edit: I should probably add some proper information. I'm after a 5D classic, 2nd hand 5DII, 1DII, 1DsII or 1DIIn and L lenses to suit. 17-40L/70-200 f4L/50 f1.2L/135 f2L to start with, in particular, but will be open to anything, really.

You don't see many people going from Nikon to Canon these days :D
HMMMM
I have a 17-40/4, but I plan on keeping it. I also have a 70-200/4 and MIGHT consider selling it, depending on the cash flow ;)

What Nikon gear do you have?

Yeah, originally I was thinking of sticking with Nikon, but to be honest i'm just so tired of their lack of ability to get it together. They jumped ahead with the D3 and D300, but have lapsed back to 2nd place by not backing it up with any decent AF-S primes. I hear they might be bringing out a 24 1.4 or something similar, but what about something to match Canon's 135L or 85L? It seems stupid not to add more top quality lenses to their line up.

Anyway.

At the moment i've got a D300 with grip, 10.5 fisheye, 50 1.8, 18-70 3.5-5.6 and some older manual focus lenses. I don't think anyone will be interested in swapping, so i'm hoping to sell the D300 and fisheye on eBay and make a majority of my profit their, along with money I have saved to fund a whole new setup.

Yep, definitely much cheaper for generic brands. I've just found a 6 pack of Duracell for $15 (including postage) from a US seller so I'll weigh those up against the cheaper options :p Considering the ones that came with the camera were generic as well, they still worked pretty well for a good amount of time. I meant to check eBay this morning but I forgot. Thanks Austen.

Edit: Found a 24 pack of generics for AU$25 from a US seller. The same pack from an Aussie seller was AU$45! Gonna jump on it next week.
