But that's the whole point of most apps out there. They don't need to integrate. On my touch, pretty much all the apps I've downloaded are just games and news or other internet-based apps.

I do a bit of web browsing while out on my E71 (and that's only going to increase with uni and more free time) and at times, Safari on the touch (and that is, scrolling, zooming, typing with my finger/s) has never felt the same as using the directional pad on the E71. But everything is rendered so much better and faster in Safari so with time, I'd get used to it.

Oh yeah those apps integration is useless... i mean like mail contacts calendar skype IM facebook twatter etc... like with some android phones you can bring up a person and see recent communication (over facebook emails etc) and meetings/events with them and IM or facebook or whatever from whatever you're in, rather than read a facebook want to ring/email/text them get out of app find person and then do that it's all integrated better...

Ahh, I see now. I knew nothing about the Android system so I didn't even realise you were comparing it to that (despite the fact that you mentioned it earlier). Sorry about that  That does seem much more streamlined but it seems like something you'd know if you want or need it, i.e. for business use.

Just a side question, what phones use the Android OS? I have a slight hint of some HTC's but I think they're mostly Windows Mobile so I'm not sure.

I don't really like the iphone OS honestly... there's so little integration between apps and contacts and everything...

So that's why I can tell TomTom to get me to a mate's place by pointing it at his contact details?

Also i wanna get a bigger ipod because 16gb isn't enough for me... haha

Which is why it syncs the playlists you tell it to.

Apparently you can't do that without FF, so please stop doing it with a crop. Thanks.

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

I'm glad I'm home. I didn't have to shoot a reception as a second shooter today so I took my missus to the movies and dinner instead.

$17 for a ticket now...when did we have a price rise?

I turned toward Martin today, my principal photographer and Maggie's brother, as we were passed by a Porsche on the South Eastern and asked, "So when we're kicking arse alongside Yervant in 2015 how about a couple of those instead of this i30?"

I replied to my own question just as Martin replied, "F**k yeah."

...which is the exact reason I went with the 7D until Canon can get their act together and bring out a D700 equiv ;) I always use the outer AF points often in dimly lit conditions and I need AF accuracy (focus-recompose doesnt cut it when you are wide open). Subject isolation? down to lens choice really and if you can make the FOV work for you -this was with the 135 at f2.2... balcony railing and city lights in the background are bokeh'd to oblivion:

Precisely!! I have been preaching against this evil "technique" in the EF forum for as long as I can remember; infact, so much so that an annoying argument a little while ago forced my hand in deriving a precise formula for the amount of back-focus generated by focus/recompose. Simple trig yields (r/cos x) - r metres (for the lateral case), where r is distance to subject and x is focus/recompose angle. So for a considerable recompose (large x), the back-focus increases exponentially due to the nature of cosine. Woop in fast primes shooting relatively open, and you're OOF faster than you can say "mankini". Absolute disaster for candid portraits at events and such.

Regarding subject isolation, my main problem is I'd have to use lenses which don't work for me in terms of FL. For example, I never liked the 135L on APS-C, as I found it to be far too long to be of general convenient use most of the time. Just reading around, it seems like many people buy this lens for its reputation, but then realise it just sits around gathering dust. Moreover, I love the AoV given by the canonical 35/85 combo on FF. On APS-C, I'd have to get a 24/50 combo, but I don't believe Canon makes any compelling 50. The only reason I'm still around the crop scene is because of the 17-55.

Make sure what you get has video.

Yes, that's actually the main reason I never really considered the Mark III. :)

Al: Movie tix were always a rip off, $17 is very rich though! There $12 when I used to work at the cinema. In saying that though, they don't make money off the ticket sales. Most of that cash goes to the hire of the reel.
