Hey Feng!

Edit: Hey Ed, is it the original retail version? or if OEM, which PC's it linked to?

Hey Feng!

Edit: Hey Ed, is it the original version, or actual oem?

It is OEM, so instead of the standard retail box, it is just a white box with a sticker. Essentially the same packaging as the Windows Server.

What do you mean? It isn't linked to anything. It isn't the same approach as the pirated versions which emulate an OEM. Basically what this is, OEM packaging. So none of the fancy stuff. License key, installation disc and that is about it I think.

Was just speaking to our computer tech / secca about it.

oem = original equipment manufacturer. Ie: when you buy a hp pc you get the oem version to take home with you and it's linked to that brand of motherboard.

Basically, if it's an oem that's not linked to the brand you're installing it on he said it wont install.

Most OEM versions aren't brand specific, but I can't see the point - if you're cheating like that (ie without fulfiulling the conditions MS make it avaialble under) why not just download it and crack it?

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

False. Microsoft does sell OEM copies of Windows. In fact, MSY also sell OEM versions of Windows and they aren't so called "linked" to a manufacturer.

It is a legitimate channel of getting Windows as well. Just that consumers would rather stop by a retail chain to get it.

That being said, I don't think I'll take my chances. Don't wanna have something happen to my PC. I have enough headaches from this thing.

Justin - talking of the 135L... the AF speed, sharpness, detail, bokeh transition and contrast of this lens is great. I really like the 3D effect it can produce (and this wasn't even wide open):

Only if purchased with a PC. Well, that's what MS says, and it's their software.
