Damian - just a little. Got a fashion shoot with a pro photog who's visting from NZ (also shoots with a 7D btw) and we're going to film the shoot then he'll edit and whack something fun together --> so i better learn fast! The 7D is fantastic... you will enjoy it immensley - smart choice seriously.

Good luck Rai! I am assisting a NZ fashion shooter in Feb...must be the season for their migration!
Thinking about the 85 1.2 to bang on the end of the 7d, it will be long but hooley dooley!

the 85L was on my list for consideration too but the combo of its slow AF and being so close in focal length to my workhorse lens (24-70L) made the 135L a no brainer for me. I wanted a nice fast lens with length that I could use to track my fast moving kiddie, take candids, blur the background to oblivion, create a 3D look etc.

I had a little play with a 7D yesterday, really nice touch to it and great features.

BOYS! Looks like I'm covering the launch of the new Rocket 3 Roadster in Feburary.

I'll draw up a quote this weekend as I've been approved to cover the costs associated with time and equipment as long as I have that quote sorted.

:)

so u need someone to ride it then.... :):cool:

For those with shiny new cameras that use LR a 2.6 update is now available that handles RAW files for the 7D, 1D4, G11 and S90.

I guess the RAW handler for PS will have a similar update available too

Oh man, talk about bad timing!

We had our Club Christmas party for all the patrons at the Club tonight. Anyways, 2 guys get asked to leave due to intoxication, one of them leaves with some girl, the other decides to get in his car and do a 42m burnout in our carpark. Low and behold, the assistant police commissioner lives opposite the Club and hears tyres screeching so walks over with his camera to take some photos. He then calls the police and then I get a call from the manager on duty saying there's been an incident can you walk over (yes, I live across the road from work). So I walk over and have the assistant commissioner in my ear trying to give the Club security advice, the cops on their way who then shat themselves when they had to take a statement from the guy (turned down his radio on both a code 4 and 5 call out), and then didn't even talk to our staff.

That's as much entertainment as I can handle in one night.

Ps. The assistant police commissioner is a douche.

Ripper Al, rail it up and give them something special through a stunning strobed corner, or are you just doing the photojournalist side of the launch?

Received a call today to let me know an earn I thought I had lost ages ago has landed, hmmm 7D who has the best prices??

I'll have a bike to capture stills with during a weekend as well as getting dynamic captures, PJ style on the launch with some stills on the day.

Lucky bugger with that earner coming through for you. Always nice to hear from money you thought you lost!

I've got to go back through my reference material and layout my quote for approval on Monday. The "rule of thirds" keeps ringing in my mind: One third costs, one third shooter fee, one third taxes.

I promised myself when I started to charge that I'd charge what I'm worth instead of discounting in some stupid attempt at attracting customers. This is an opportunity and if they don't accept it I haven't lost anything. They sought me out because of the quality of my work and if they think they can get a cheap ride because I work there, they are sorely mistaken.

He'd have nothing useful one suspects, like even the best burn out doesn't give you the time to hear it. get annoyed, find your camera and get out side etc.

@Phil,seems like a normal Friday night to me. As for your ahem 2IC cop well what did you expect. With the pics he may have got one of the car smoking the bags but more than likely just one or maybe two licorice straps. Speaking of which where are your shots of it?

Depends,he seems the type that would have the camera, the tape recorder and just in case the vid camera sitting waiting.
