Nice work. Took my stuff back off the market due to the wedding sjhoot coming up, and there's no way I'll have a mk1Ds mkIII by then. Need lights more :-)

Cheers. What were you planning on selling? Not a 35L by any chance..

1Ds III.. wow. Sexy.

1Ds3/1D3 combo... Nice

What would you use more? Hard to say since you don't have both but still, if you were to go out somewhere that isn't specific to sport or portraits, which would you take? Don't say the S90 ;)

Would I ruin such a long-running joke? Not likely.

Nah, just a 40D and a Sigma 30/1.4. Need the 40D as the backup body.

1Ds III.. wow. Sexy.

Yeah, but they've got to get cheap enough :-)

For general use, probably the Ds. Same weight, more pixels to play with, same AF, no need for 10FPS. Yeah, the DS. (I've only used a Ds for a couple of hours, but it's nice, and I'm VERY used to the D.)

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

Exactly what I was thinking. If any action-related stuff came your way while you've got the 1Ds in hand, the AF and 5FPS would be alright.

I haven't used one properly but I picked one up with an 85L mounted. I wanted to pick it up and use it for a few minutes but the guy was leaving :( Would have been nice.

Edit: There's a 1Ds3 on eBay right now. It's at $2000 with just under 5 days left  Also a 1Ds2 for $2800 BIN. Cheaper than a 5D2, that'd be tempting if I had the money and was considering a 5D2 before I saw it :)

S90

IMAGE: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2701/4259276092_f1dd7115ba_b.jpg

S90 in all its glory. Black perspex is almost impossible to get clean, trust me.

OK, so that took nearly three hours, I hope I learned a bit...

Shot in a light tent. Second diffusion layer inside, also white. Sitting on a OCD-level cleaned piece of black perspex. 550EX high back middle, 1/8th. 550EX low very front right side 1/2

10-12 dust specks cloned out in LR. The AF-assist light above the lens threw a weird specular reflection onto the perspex, so I cloned that out as well.

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

I've kindof decided that what i have works fine and that with the lighting gear i'm still waiting for i'll be set for alot, no real need to spend much more... I mean how much better can a 1D4 be? the 1D3 takes perfectly great pictures without much fuss.... Only thing i still want is fast 50/35/24 prime since when it's dark i really wish i had that, but that doesn't happen much...

Oh yeah and leo from imagemelbourne is great, turns out the website failed in a way so he didn't get my order but got some money from me but no idea of what i wanted, sorted now and is coming... DDE ran out of stock and also is only shipping this week haha..
I DID get my ebay softboxes, which are very niiice... fold up into little bag, cheap, seem to work nicely, haven't got a chance to really try them until the other crap arrives..

Hi Mark,
Going shooting with some friends from AP Forum. Plus I'm normally awake at this time anyway.

Yeah, good crowd on AP and we seem to get together often. A lot of cross over between here and AP ie many people are on both.

So what's you excuse - if you are 3hrs behind it must still be o'dark o'clock in your neck of the woods.
