Sorry, by no means did I mean to rip on Olympus. Truth be known I'd buy one of their tough cameras, but I'd rather spend the money on new lenses.. I just found it funny to believe that my sister had managed to kill it.

Mmmm Ok fair enough, will keep that link in a safe space.

All good.

I love that Olympus ad where he skips the camera across but the second guy attempts to and it falls in. Hilarious.

Same here. (Once I've got these bits for the S90. Oh, and I just bought a TT1 and a cable so I can remotely trigger the camera with it :-)

Don't forget the 1Ds Mark III :) I keep meaning to buy a remote trigger off eBay because they're only $25 or so but whenever I think about it, I don't do it because I can't see how it's even worth keeping one in the kit. It's not like I have a decent tripod to go with it (i.e. to use the tripod and the trigger to get some long exposures) so I'll wait for that.

That's well behind lights.

The first shot (IMG_0861) definitely seems much better from DPP. A tad underexposed but the whole shot looks so much better. The LR shot looked like a big mess of OOF/JPEG artifacts but the DPP shot is clear and nice throughout. The birds shot has a massive difference too and looks much better out of DPP. The lighthouse one is also better but it seems less significant than the others.

I'm actually really liking that birds shot, Andrew! Great work.

So you understand my concern. Its a high(ish) spec 18Mpx DSLR shooting through a 70-200F4L IS (one of Canons sharpest zooms) and they look like crap. Especially compared to the old 5D shooting through a 24-70L.

Of course. One of my mates has had his 7D for a week or so now and I believe he's using the LR3 beta rather than LR2.6 so I'll direct him to this thread and see what his take is, seeing as he's actually got a 7D. I'll try and persuade him to install DPP to compare for you :)

Back from a lovely day on the beach at Anglesea watching the big kids play...tax time

I know this one's not perfect (too sharp on the left of frame), but it would be too hard to crop and I still quite like it
