The thing about Apple products is that if you've been brainwashed into the Windows way of doing things, it will seem alien. In general though, if you think of the most obvious way to do something, that's the way the Apple stuff works.
Throw away your preconceptions and mistaught methods and just use the kit like you think it should work and it will.
Yes, as ever, it's the weird majority. Gotcha. Apple is so great it's got, what, five per cent of the market?
Yawn...

Hmm.. I'm getting the 85L itch. Oh noes! Anyone gone from 85/1.8 to 85L? I won't be selling the 85/1.8, as it's my primary street lens. But an 85L for portraits..
Can I just state, again, how much I love my 85L? Ta.

Morning Grag! One reason I'm really interested in the 85L is the ability to play with real shallow DOF. That may seem like a typical no-brainer/duh reason to buy the lens, but I'm referring specifically to 'usable' apertures - ones I'd be comfortable using unconditionally. For the 85/1.8, it would be f/2.2+. I rarely use it at f/1.8 as CA and sharpness aren't satisfactory IMO. With an 85L, I'd imagine I'd be happy using it at f/1.6+ and that would be an absolute cracker.
I used my 1.2 at Mad Monday, and even @ 1.2 it was great. (On a mkIII)

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)
