What is your concern? There was talk of if the AB with Elinchrom mods will work as well as a Elinchrom with Elinchrom mod. My guess is that this will never be resolved and any testing would most likely end up being brand against brand opinion.
This combo will move the flash tube of a AB further forward than it would be in any other stock AB or aftermarket modifier besides beauty dishes. We have a mount for that as well that will move the flash tube all the way into a Beauty Dish.

OH, I wasn't being serious, so don't take it that way. I am not in the position to cough up the $250+ for any eli softboxes anyway, I'd likely go with the PLM for $85, because that's the kind of cheapskate I am.

Unfortunately not Derek. The design of the Elinchrom boxes is such that you can't use other speed rings.

bite your tongue! :p nothing unfortunate about elinchrom's design, except for those from other brands! There were quite a few factors that convinced me to switch from hensel to elinchrom, but one of the big ones is the simplicity/ease/speed of setting up the rotalux modifiers while on location (and usually a dirty/rusty/nasty one at that!). It's too bad it's not easier to adopt the rotaluxes to other brands of lights but now that Kacey's adapter exists as well as profoto already having an adapter, I think the rotalux design is only a good thing!
