Last day with my borrowed Canon 300 2.8. (Was supposed to buy it, but the owner realized he needed it this fall so it is off to buy a new one next week - see you at B&H).

Shot my nephew #44 and his teammates at my ol' alma mater.

Used my 70-200 2.8 and the 300 with 1.4x

Lightroom with Punch. +5 on the blacks and a few white bal adj's. Also some may be slightly cropped

Again, I struggled with white balance and getting the crisp images on a cloudy day. c&c and if you wish:

1) 1/400 f/5.0 420mm ISO1250

2) 1/800 f/4.5 420mm ISO1000

3) My fav - tackler's face 1/1000 f/4.5 420mm ISO800 ex +.48

IMAGE: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3446/3928158198_680c78a5b2_b.jpg

4) Most disappointing - TD! Wrong lens as he dives across the goal. Plus wrong focus setting. (1/640 f/4.0 420mm ISO800 ex +.29) BLURRY!! I have two shot live this, the other is his back half. Tried to stitch them but not even close.

5) 2nd fav - post play, but the chin strap & his facial expression just get me. (1/800 f/2.8 420mm ISO800 ex)

Nice shots! Looks like afternoon and really cloudy day! And I guess it doesn't matter where you are if you have 400mm of reach, huh?!!!

Good stuff. Keep shooting and posting more. Really liked 3 as well. Nice framing and crop.
