Can anyone tell me if the Kata 3N1-30 will hold more kit than the DR-467? I have the 467 and really like it, but I'm wondering if my kit would fit a bit more easily in the 3N1-30. My everyday walkaround kit includes everything in my sig but the 20D and the Beast (the siggy 80-400.) I'm also getting a 17-55 2.8, and I can leave the siggy 10-20 at home if I must, but I'd like to continue to carry it around.

Oh, and I usually have several filters, extra batteries, ect, and my 430EX speedlite with diffuser as well as the camera and lenses.

Adn the only other thing that I think twice about with the 3N1 are those skinny straps... How much do they squish when you are fully loaded?

I like carrying a backpack, and I'm a bit limited because I'm really short in the torso - so a pack more than 18" long won't fit my back... That restriction leaves out most of the other choices.

Thanks in advance for any insight you can give...

i've used the 467 and it was a little tight for my equipment. the 3n1-30 is bigger and i feel more comfortable with it. i still have to do something about the straps, though. the 467 is really inconvenient since you have to take the bag off to take anything out. the 3n1-30 is big, though. it's kind of blocky. i would go to a store and test one out before you decide.

I can't test anything as I live in a rural small town and the closest shop that would carry these bags is a 6 hour drive away. So I buy online and depend greatly on the expertise on this forum. Makes me research like crazy...

Hi Kasrielle, I have the DR 467i and 3N1-30 both, though these two backpacks has similar outher dimension in height and depth, no doubt the 3N1-30 can carry more stuff.

Talking about the skinny strap, both packs needs to be improved on this part but I have no trouble to carry it even that's full loaded.

However the narrow length adjustment strap on the 3N1 always slips, so I have to add two more buckles on each side to prevent it goes longer when carrying heavy equipment.

Have a look on 3N1-30 photos.

The upper section is able to fit in a 300/2.8 lens ans still have some space for other stuff.

Let's take a look at the camera section, since you have a DR 467 you could tell how's the different between it and the 3N1-30.
