Hi All

I now have the MP620 and have found it a fairly thirsty printer but would welcome some feedback.

I used to have an Epson Stylus and typically changed the carts when the print quality went.

But the Canon "reports" at two levels ~ i.e. low level 'get ready to change' and 'Ink may have run out' now I have been running off up to another 30 sheets of general printing after that "warning" without any issues of print quality.

The reason for my question is that somewhere I read a warning that with Canon heads you should not let it dry out so must change the cart when exhausted but when I look at the one I take out there seems to be so much ink left in the 'sponge pad section' i.e. using a tissue you can soak out what seems like a lot of ink.

So just how long (number of sheets) can you use the cart after that last warning??? Also if you wait for the print quality to show that ink has gone does this really adversely affect the head???

TIA for any insight & user experience.:D

Good question. I've been using the printer for a month since it said "out of ink", it just keeps going.

Now subject to the number of pages you have "run on" with that is quite something!

But can 'we' use the Canon until the print shows that the cart has been fully exhausted without damaging the printhead???

Anyone else got some user views/experience on this???
