Sep 17, 2009 17:03 | #4 Thank you ChasWG, ChioPhotography. As for the deep DOF, I didn't use my Nifty Fifty but rather the 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 kit lens at 5.6 I think. I have yet to invest in a good outdoor 'sports' lens but can't decide between the 85 1.8 (Is this even a 'sports' lens?) or a 70-200 f/4 non-IS. As I'm not really into sports photography, I'm leaning towards the 85 1.8 for its 2 1/3 stops advantage and I really don't like the 'whites', too conspicuous. I wonder if I can paint it black (probably void the warranty) Canon 450D

The 70-300 is a bit slower, but the IS and extra reach is nice. For Sale: 1D, T1i, 800mm, 600mm
