Of the first two, I like the second best as it has more light on its main face. #1 could use more light on its face. Note that the main face is darker than the darkest background.

#3 - It's jewlry, yes - but it is not very well presented.

#4 is well lighted and presented, but it looks to be tilting to the left.

Nez, I have tried this with a home made light and work lights, and found that if you set a custom white balance you get a better end result. I think you need a whiter background to really show off the product. There is a very good thread in the Flash section all about Light tents.

I'm no expert but from a personal perspective agree that the background should either be nearly white or black to show off products at their best.

Unfortunately I can't see your posts here (China?), but a few comments.

You only need tent lighting or things like jewelry or cut glass. Stuff that will reflect every part of the room in some facet. I'm thinking its jewelry. Otherwise, and usually, tents are boring.

KitKat: blown out white is no good. White backgrounds are usually horrid unless lit well and maybe some falloff. Its easy for catalog guys to outline I guess. Gray is a much better color-- you can get it very light easily and very dark in the same shot, without blowing out your product. Dark gray is best, IMO. Black backgrounds are tough to make gray without dissing your product, and its so dark that no light gets on the underside. This is first chocolate bar I DON'T want to eat. White plex is another tough background, but great if you put a light under it. Why would you want to light this thing so heavy-handedly? You look about a stop over.

Perhaps your very pale red is correct for that candy bar - but it looks too pale!
I think the dim reflection underneath the item helps the composition.
